When navigating career changes, it's important to remember that you're not bound to a job or company. Instead, be loyal to expressing your life's tasks and focus on practical knowledge for long-term success. During your apprenticeship, pay attention to rules and procedures, acquire new skills, experiment, and observe power dynamics.
Rather than solely following your passion, focus on doing the work right. Compelling careers often have complex origins, and keeping track of the hours spent each month dedicated to researching research problems can help you hone your skills. Adopting the craftsman mindset is essential to building a compelling career, regardless of how you feel about your job. Why settle for living up to other people's models of success? Deliberate practice requires focus and concentration, unlike the enjoyable activities we already know how to do well. With career capital, control is sustainable, but first, you must improve your skills before expecting quality work. Strive to be valuable instead of solely aiming to make money.
Instead of solely focusing on finding the perfect job, focus on working diligently. A successful career often results from a complex process that goes beyond just following your passion. If you want something valuable, you must have something equally useful to offer. Why do we continue to follow other people's paths to success? Hard work won't help you improve your performance beyond a certain point. It's essential to identify the type of capital market you're in, your capital type, and your definition of "good." Stretching and challenging yourself is crucial for growth, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone.
