Off Topic: Note-Taking for First-Principles Thinking

Disciplines are artificial constructs that humans have created to organize knowledge. In reality, everything is interconnected, and all fields of study relate to the universe. It's essential to connect information and take atomic notes that capture the essence of each idea. This routine should be designed to connect daily notes to ongoing projects, such as a book manuscript or a blog post. Doing so makes the notes fragments of more significant ideas waiting to be explored. By adopting a deliberate practice routine, we can ensure that our daily notes serve as a foundation for our creative work.

Unrelated: Reflections on Life and Death

It is common to focus on immediate needs and desires, often ignoring the larger picture and the future. Who knows when the world will end? Who can think about the future? I have never once thought about how I'm going to die. I can't even think about it. I don't know how I'm going to live either. The only matters is whether I can get my stomach full and get by right now.

Living and dying are of equal value. If you devote all your future energy to living, you will not be able to die well. It would be best to shift gears a little at a time. The highest wisdom is to have no fear. True terror is how humans feel toward their imagination. The whole terrible fight occurs in the area of imagination. That is the precise location of our battlefield. It is there that we experience our victories and our defeats. Each of us is a being of limited duration: we go down to defeat. The ultimate value of our lives is decided not by how we win but by how we lose.
